MobileSpy Review & Test

If you are a parent looking for a way to keep tabs on your kids, or you are an employer who needs to make sure that your staff is doing what they are supposed to be, then you need monitoring software. There are many different software applications on the market all of them offering different benefits. One such application is MobileSpy. Let’s take a look at how it measures up.

Installation and Initialization

Like most of the other similar monitoring apps and services, you must have physical access to the target device in order to install and initialize Mobile Spy on that. After the installation process, you don’t need the target device in your hand in order to collect the data because you can do that remotely with the help of web portal.

Compatibility

Mobile Spy is available for iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices; unlike some other popular mobile monitoring services and apps like mSpy, Mobile Spy is not available for desktop computers and that is a huge disadvantage. On the other hand, Mobile Spy only works on jailbroken iOS devices and rooted Android devices and that makes it unusable on most of the iOS and Android devices because majority of people don’t jailbreak or root their devices.

Key Features

These are the minimum features that you should expect from any mobile monitoring package, but considering the fairly expensive subscription rates it would not be unreasonable to expect some of the more advanced features offered by some similar applications. However, this is where MobileSpy falls down. Consumer reviews state that not only is MobileSpy somewhat lacking in features, but also in support meaning that many of the basic features that are included end up being unusable.

Location Tracking

With the help of location tracking feature, users can track the exact location of the target device.

Other Features

  • Track and record the details of all calls made and received.
  • Access the device’s calendars, contacts and task lists.
  • Track the phone’s location using GPS locations.
  • View internet browsing habits.
  • Intercept SMS and MMS sent and received.

Pricing

The biggest complaint among consumers seems to be that MobileSpy is overpriced and inconsistent. This is not great since when you are in need of the power to monitor someone’s phone then you need to be able to do so consistently otherwise you could miss an important detail in gathering your evidence.

Mobile Spy has two different plans; basic and premium. The basic plans come with less features and it is less expensive while the premium plan is little more pricy and comes with advanced features as well. Basic plan for 6 and 12 months is available for $70 and $100 respectively.

Bottom Line

If you are looking for a reliable and affordable way to monitor someone’s cell phone then it is probably best for you to look at some of the other packages out there because MobileSpy just does not seem to be capable of living up to its hype.
